Aim the Club
To explore and enjoy the scenic bushland, the mountains, sand hills and the countryside in general by means of a 4WD without disruption to the environment.
Club Outings
These range from social BBQs and day runs through the bush or along the beach to weekenders in The Grampians, The Little Desert and The Coorong as well as longer trips to The Victorian High Country, the Simpson Desert, Birdsville and even Cairns, the Kimberleys and the top end. All trips are organised by a Trip Leader and information on driving conditions, fuel requirements and other needs are provided.
Meetings
Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month, commencing at 7-30pm at the clubrooms at Hastings Cunningham Reserve, Shepherdson Road Mount Gambier. Entry to parking is off White Avenue. All interested parties are invited to come along and discuss our club activities.
Membership is not restricted to any one type of four wheel drive vehicle. Nor is it necessary to have done any four wheel driving prior to joining the club as there are always experienced members willing to pass on valuable information regarding safe four wheel driving techniques, use of recovery equipment, correct tyre pressures for different terrain and general information regarding four wheel driving, camping and packing for those longer trips.
The club is a member of the South Australian Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs.
What can you get from joining a 4WD Club?
The advantage of travelling with other club members is having experienced and knowledgeable people along who are always willing to help you get out of that sticky situation and advise those less experienced on how to get over that next obstacle.
Regardless of your level of expertise, as a club member you will expand your 4 wheel driving experiences and social activities with people who share common interests.
As a member you have the chance to discover new areas to enjoy your 4 wheel drive as well as pick up tips on vehicle accessories and camping equipment. There is always someone with their head stuck in the back of someone else’s vehicle checking out how they are set up.
